My shocks are shot and one of my rear springs is sheared in half at the base. I want to replace the shocks and one spring, but I can't find a spring for sale anywhere (I'm in Nova Scotia canada). Ford wants $300 for a new one and there aren't any junk yards with the part. Ford also says there are many different types for this car.

My question is are there any reasonable alternatives? Maybe coil shocks? Are there other springs compatable with the car (long shot)...

Any advice would be appreciated,
Thank you.

Really should replace both rear springs. Replacing just the one is not a good idea.

1) You're going to have some trouble finding rear Sports shocks.

2) Might as well lower the whole thing with some Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

3) Might as well replace the front shocks as well. Even it all out with fresh stuff.

Looks like the only rear spring that is still available is 3W4Z-5560-FA (white) . It's about $150, in the US. I agree that you need to replace both rear springs.

Options after that will be the Bilstein JAG replica set up. Search threads on it. Some have done it and interests myself as well.

Hope mine will last..all the springs on mine were busted. Had a 03 or 05 LS with good ones so I swapped them. Mine was the sport now it's base. Doesn't seem to make a difference and was an easy change. I'm running 245/40/ZR18s along with it.

I believe there is no difference in the springs between base and sport. The shocks are the difference.

I have all 4 Sport Shocks and springs off my LS. I took them off years ago, they were perfect. The reason I got them off was to install lowering springs and performance shocks. I sell them all for 100 bucks plus shipping. If you want them let me know.

And you can't get motorcraft shocks anymore either. So options are:

1) Monroe/KYB aftermarket shocks
2) Bilstein S-Type swap
3) Stance Adjustable shocks
4) Junkyard/used shocks

Option 2 and 3 are probably around the same money, but I'm not sure what the availability is on Stance shocks anymore. Option 1 isn't going to be the sport shocks, and option 4 is sketchy.
