yep. there is a plastic strip with gear teeth on it. it slides up into the antenna to push it up and pull it down. it probably stripped. new antennas aren't very expensive, and easy to replace.
Hmmm .. has it been this way for more than 4 hours ... if so you might have a serious problem ... maybe you should go to the Doctor to have this looked at.
