The Sony 10-CD changer in my '97 LSC gives an intermittent "NO CD" message, very irritating. Have any of you found a repair shop that can take this unit and fix it so it stays fixed? I don't mind sending it off somewhere. John

It would be very expensive to fix and may not even be fixable. Most have transport problems and the gearset isnt available. The others usually have a bad LASER assembly. Also not replaceable due to the track design.

The much cheaper route would be to get another one. Many people on here have good ones they would sell cheap. The last one I bought was from an Expidition. I forget what year but just look for a Ford 10 disc from the late 90's to early 2000's. If it comes from a truck or SUV then all you need to do is change the springs on the side from verticle mount to horizontal or elso it will skip on every bump you hit.

I'm bringing a fully operational 10 disc to Carlisle. Show up and I'll make you one heck of a deal.

more like that dude is kind of high.

Either that or he wants to get high. :p I prefer my iPod Touch in the console and have thousands of songs hidden with no doors, lasers, motors or anything else going bad. It charges as it's being played and sounds just as good or better than any CD but I also understand that some don't mess with iPods. I can't say that I really mess with them. The only reason it ever comes out of my console is if I'm adding another song or two. I think I took it out once.

The $50 NEW cd changer off eBay looked like the way to go.
