Does anyone have a clear an precise write-up on how to remove the Hydraulic Cooling Pump from the engine block?

I can not find a write-up anywhere on the web.

Help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

PICTURES.. WORDS.. SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS.

I may be tackling this rather than the stuck cooling solenoid.

Since that manual is Gen2, it won't cover the hydraulic pump at all, and it's usable for anything related to the accessory drive or the cooling system. Suspension is still applicable, and some portions of the electronics.

KidL, get a set of manuals. The original Ford service manuals show up on eBay regularly. I don't know how to be more precise than "start removing stuff until its off". The complexity depends on how many stuck bolts you run into - the four bolts holding the pump to the bracket (to the engine) have a bad habit of seizing hard.

Some folks remove the pulley, some don't. Some remove the fan and radiator, some don't. Some use a Sawzall halfway through due to frustration, some don't.

I had to break the aluminum housing of 2 pumps. Hammer and a cold chisel....done. the top bolts are the difficult ones.
