Thanks all, first for your time and concern in helping my LS acheive ultimate appeal , second for any tips or advice...so recently the LS was in the body shop for repairs and i instructed the manager for a weaved mesh grill...of course when you want something done correctly it must be done yourself. After six weeks of 'repairs' the result was repulsive. The grille was half waterfall and the mesh was chicken wire..rather than wasting more time in the shop i took it upon myself to get 'err done...however most weaved mesh online i.e. ebay lsKoncepts are not on parr for luxury parts or service. Any ideas or direction where weaved mesh can be found for a 2005 LS with LSE fascia?? ... 2nd Gen grille and weaved mesh for the LSE fascia as well.

Any feedback is appreciated..As a new member i look forward to helping others with their LS as well as Caddy's glad to be on both teams:cool:

I guess a better picture of your grill, or of whatever weaved mesh you like, would be a good start.

All I can tell from that pic is that you have a chrome grill.

Only thing I can think of is try searching google for "Expanded Metal" or "Perforated Metal" and see if that is what you are looking for.

ALAX7- Yes That seems 'bout right

KUMBA- Thanks for the links..close, but no cigar

..Heres what weaved mesh should look like & heres a close up of the disaster the shop made

They could've just separated the chrome surround from the water fall to attach mesh to it. That looks like similar mesh, its just mounted the wrong direction.

The mesh on the cts is cut diagonally instead of pararell with the squares.

CDC grille.

A mesh grille I made trying to get it as close to the cdc as possible....cdc replica

Then color matched

It was a close match, just needed to be a little thicker to fill in the grille better.

Alax, do you still have the material to make another mesh like in the above pics? I am thinking some etching primer and doing it in black would be nice. Wanna make me one for a fee? All I would have to do is put it on my color matched surround.

Of course I would have it painted here so it matches up with the lower front section.

We really need to work this out. LOL.

Ouch. Did you show the shop the pic of what you wanted before they came up with that?

Good news is that you should get enough good help around here to get it looking better.

there is a special ring in hell for those who destroy good LSE grilles

I see. It makes perfect sense to use it as long as it is not exorbantly expensive. Keep us posted on the cost. It actually would be cool to be able to have 3 different looks for the front end depending on my mood.

Good options already mentioned. You could also go onto McMaster Carr and search for "stainless mesh". You can get almost any mesh opening you want and type 316 is highly corrosion resistant. Just get it cut big enough so you can apply it diagonally. Not sure how thick the mesh itself is, but you could probably plasti-dip it to make it appear bigger if you need.

I hate to say it... but thats what you get for trusting a "shop" to do one off stuff that clearly have no business doing it.... Why would you have a body shop try something like that anyway... Not the shops fault you don't like it... and if you didn't give them clear instructions or photos... you got what you payed for!!!

Just find another grille and swap them out...

LS Caddy, so how much for just what you have left of an LSE grille? Since you may end up going in a different direction, I can make what you have work with what I am going to do as far as having 3 styles of grilles.

PM me a price if for sale.
