You'll feel your car missing, or shaking at idle.. hessitant when you accelerate or even dead spots in the throttle.. I haven't had this problem yet but I've sure read enough threads that I'll recognize it as soon as it happens... I'm sure some others have advice on what to look for... hope that helps ya

of course those symptoms would have me check the fuel filter too.. but thats just me.

okay so i just ordered the ignition coil i got 6 for 140.00. As i was reading through some posting im reading something about Ignition Plugs will i have to replace these also and what are they for?

Ignition plugs?

No..all you need to do during this job is replace the coils and the spark plugs while you are in there. IF there is oil in the plug wells, its due to failing valve cover gaskets, which should be replaced as well..if there is indeed leaking

Ignition plugs is another way of saying Ignition Coils... Coil over plugs... They have many names, but all mean the same thing.

this is the second time i have to change them. I was very irritated because this happened before it seems our cars are NOTORIOUS for this problem you guys here actually helped when i explained how my car shakes and missfires after heavy rain and car washes. SOMEHOW water gets in and ruins the coils. anyone know what cause the water to get in????

I got the cheap set of coils from ebay and installed them all on my v8. I also replaced my spark plugs with the exact factory motorcraft plugs from the dealership 4 bucks a peice. Im a mechanic and I know if they came factory with motorcraft they match up to the car perfectly, Do not go get any other brand or especialy autozone they will sell yuo bosh platinum while they have the motorcraft in stock go figure.
