06 LS Alarm goes off for no reason

I replaced the one on the driver's side (would not lock) and it was one unit (my 2004 would be same as a 2006, but I don't know about gen 1). Anyway, it was a pain in the neck to replace, so if I can avoid doing the same on the passenger side that would be nice.

06 LS Alarm goes off for no reason

I've had the same problem with my 2004 LSE. Last week I sprayed some silicon oil into the passenger side lock and built up the striker bar where the latch hits the bar with a little metallic duct tape. So far no false alarms, but I fear I may have to replace the whole lock mechanism before too...

New here. Question about 2004 driver's door latch assembly

Just an update on this. The part number is 3W4Z-5421813-AA. I found the best price for one on e-Bay for $162. The part did not appear to have been installed before, but it did not come in a factory bag or box. I had a car audio shop install it and now everything works fine.

    Hard to diagnose

Well I used a bottle of 3M gas treatment and the car does seem to idle smoother than it did before. It could just be my imagination. I have run a couple of tanks of Chevron 91-octane through the tank and I have not experienced the heat soak problem again, but my theory is still that my issue...

    LS Brake kits ???

I'm wondering if anyone has compared the Porterfield R4-S Brake Pads back to back with the Akebono Euro pads. The Porterfields have been great on my Porsche 914, but that car weighs about half of what the LS does. I see LDM has these on his car and results were good...

    Hard to diagnose

I plan to put some 3M gas treatment through the tank next week to see if I can clean out the injectors and will report back with results. I have to figure out who to take the car to in the SF Bay Area to get the fuel injection diagnosed as I am not confident I have the skill and tools to do it...

    Hard to diagnose

Hey Telco, I never noticed much difference after running gas treatments but I started reading some of the reviews for Lucas upper cylinder lubricant and it has a lot of fans. I will give it a try and let you know if this clears the problem.

    Hard to diagnose

Joe -- This makes some sense. The warm start up issues seems to me to be similar to what we used to have on carbuerated cars with a flooded engine or when the choke was pulled out when trying to restart a hot engine. How would you go about testing fuel injectors to see if they are not closing...

    Hard to diagnose

Can a catalytic converter be clogged without drivability issues all the time? The engine revs fine and idle is stable other than the warm restart issue I mention in the first post. Engine power also seems good.

    Hard to diagnose

Thanks G-Rell and LS4me. I did the maintenance items when I bought the car in September, including fuel filter and engine air filter. I use Chevron 91-octane and Shell or 76 when that is not available. Bad gas is pretty rare with these brands, although some say all California Winter gas is...

    Hard to diagnose

I purchased a 2004 LSE V-8 with 65,000 miles on it back in September. It had an engine misfire when I got it and I took it to Ford to have COPS replaced. They did 2 of them and I ended up replacing the other 6 on my own dime not wanting to bring it back to them 3 more times. All 8 COPS and...

New here. Question about 2004 driver's door latch assembly

Hey Ebony, Welcome to the LS forum. I don't have a clue on the part number. Use the search. There several threads here about the door latch assembly.
