Picked up a nice little gem

$1600, couldn't pass up that deal. And yes, there's some rust here and there in the wheel wells, so I'm sure it's under the top too. Didn't look at the full carfax ownership details but it was up north for a bit. Doesn't bother me as I gave it a quick inspection underneath and all looks well...

Picked up a nice little gem

So picked up this nice little gem last week for a really good Price. 1994 TC Signature, vinyl top, sunroof, leather, 94,500 miles, interior is pristine and everything works! Gonna keep this one as a DD for awhile, probably do a nice detail on it this week as well.

Bringing a 2001 LS back to life after being abused.

So it's been awhile since an update. Car is running well. Had a little bit of a rough idle, and seeing the problem with coils, I just went ahead and did plugs and coils for all cylinders. Good news was that there was no oil problems on the plugs, but a few were rusty. But she runs really well...

Bringing a 2001 LS back to life after being abused.

So, change out he thermostat housing. It's a little project, but wasn't too bad. But now I know the guy was plagued with it running hot and didn't know what to do. He was an old school car guy (had a tri 5 in his garage he was working on as a project) so probably wasn't too keen on how sensitive...

Bringing a 2001 LS back to life after being abused.

Thanks for the links. I do have a set of those wrenches as well (plus a nice assortment of other tools I've gathered over the years :-) ). I was just planning on picking up a thermostat from the autoparts store before starting the replacement. Won't get the housing until Friday so it looks like...

    2000 LS V8 part out

Center vents? Don't need the message buttons or actual vents, just the bezel mainly. But if you wanna sell the whole thing as a piece that's fine

Bringing a 2001 LS back to life after being abused.

Well, new cooling system parts are on the way, lol. Sure enough I put the new tank in, bled the system, and still wasn't getting really hot heat. Looked back under the hood and saw coolant in the allen head indentation in the filler cap. Blew it out with my air hose and saw a nice little crack...

Oh, and dccv looked fine as well, so it's gotta be the lack of pressure.

Bringing a 2001 LS back to life after being abused.

Urrgghhh. Just literally picked up the doorman bottle from advance auto parts. Shoulda checked the forums before ordering it, lol. Well it was only $64.99 so I'll give it a shot. It's not all that hard to replace if it fails. I'll just take it back and order OE, thank you for the warning...

Bringing a 2001 LS back to life after being abused.

Well drove around for a bit with heater on and felt the heater hoses and they felt warm and "empty". Popped off one of the hoses and it was dry. No signs of any plugs in the hose or in the firewall nipple. However after I reattached it and let t idle for a few minutes a radiator hose blew off...

Sent PM couple days ago, but you still have those center vents? And do you have the radio plugs, that plug into stock radio?

Thank you. I did find a thread on here that gives a nice checklist of things to go through when there's no heat. When I get a chance I'll look at the hoses.

Bringing a 2001 LS back to life after being abused.

Hey guys. So I bought a 2001 lincoln LS V8 on Saturday. Got an awesome deal on it, but it obviously has lead a rough life until it got into my hands. A few of the problems are: The interior is really dirty and owner was a smoker. The center area of the dash is in rough shape, has a really...

    New LS owner from FL

Hey guys. New to the LS world but not cars. Picked up a 2001 LS V8 yesterday pretty cheap. Engine/tranny is in good condition but the interior is rough, a/c needs a charge (means it's leaking a little) and the car could use a good detail. Good news is that I'm a car guy and detail cars as a...
