I redid the ones in my 96. They looked really bad but the tears, if not terrible, get fixed with a flexible "bondo" like product. The seats get painted with leather paint. Leather seats are actually painted! Research it online. For about $50-75 you can redo them.
I haven't done the swap lately but I did it a few years ago on a 96 MarkVIII with the Monroe kit. I was really disappointed. Too mushy of a ride. It would have been worth fixing the air suspension. Just my 2 cents.
