    Driving With No Thermostat

The fan definitely sped up a good bit but that still may not be what it is supposed to be. Still haven't had a chance to get it out and see what it does. Snowy and cold weather have kept me in. Probably would be better to hook up a diagnostic tool to know for sure.

    Driving With No Thermostat

Gave the AC test a try and sure enough the fan sped up. I have installed a new TS and bled out the coolant system. I will just have to drive around and see if the overheating issue is still there. Is it possible that even though the fan sped up that it still isn't spinning as fast as it should?

    Driving With No Thermostat

Thanks! I will test to see if the fan spins at higher speeds. Seems someone suggested turning the A/C on and listen for the fan to kick up to a higher speed. Am I correct on this, or do I need to test another way?

    Driving With No Thermostat

It looks like I created quite the discussion. That's what I've always liked about this forum. Anyway, just made it home after being on the road for over 5 hours. We stopped about half way to grab a bite to eat and had a lot of stop and go traffic and she wanted to overheat on me. As soon as...

    Driving With No Thermostat

I appreciate everyone's reply. The car is in great shape; you can tell it has been taken care of. I'm not sure why exactly he didn't put a thermostat in though. I have replaced the degas bottle before on an 01 LS. Well, I'm going to give it a try for a 5 to 6 hour drive back to MO from MS...

    Driving With No Thermostat

Just bought a 02 LS. The previous owner drove it very little but said there was no thermostat in it. Of course, it took forever to get it up to operating temperature and as such has thrown a code. I drove it a couple hours and it rode great. I have another 5 to 6 hour drive to get back home...

    Rear Wheel Hub Knuckle Assembly

So how much will it cost to just get new bearings pressed in opposed to just buying the whole assembly? Is it worth it to just buy the new assembly and install myself?

    Rear Wheel Hub Knuckle Assembly

Well, that is what they said, but they could be wrong. It seems to be the consensus of others on this forum that it can be done. I always get second and third opinions. Maybe others can chime in on this who have actually done the job.

    Rear Wheel Hub Knuckle Assembly

I appreciate everyone's response on this. I really hope I can just press new bearings in; that would save a ton of money. How hard is it to take off the wheel hub knuckle assembly? I wouldn't think it would be too hard, but could be wrong.

    Rear Wheel Hub Knuckle Assembly

Thanks for the response, but the mechanic at the dealership said it couldn't be done like that. It all comes in one unit and you just can't buy the bearings. But, if it can be done, that would definitely be the way to go.

    Rear Wheel Hub Knuckle Assembly

I've gotten a couple of emails saying that lincoln vs. cadillac misses me. So, I figured I would post something, as I haven't in a long time. Took my 05 LS to the dealer to determine what the grinding sound is coming from the left rear. It seems the wheel bearings are going out. It isn't bad...

Wondering if a 2001 LS front headlamp assembly will work in a '05? Are they interchangeable?

    Where to buy LS Engine

Thanks for the link. Anybody ever done this job; any pictures, etc?? Someone told me that it's not really that hard of job. I also read where the engine comes out at the bottom and not the top.

    Where to buy LS Engine

Hey guys, been a while since posting. I'm wondering if any of you know where to purchase a used engine for 01 V8 without getting ripped off and something that comes with a warranty. I saw some on ebay but very unsure about purchasing through there. In addition, how labor intensive is it to...

    Front Wheel Hub Removal

GOT IT! I used the bolt method. Worked great. Just took a little while but well worth it. Thanks for the tip!

    Front Wheel Hub Removal

I was just reading about the press method with the bolts. I will give this a try. Just thought there might be a special tool to use on jobs like this, as I assume mechanics don't use the bolt method but have a tool for the job. Thanks

    Front Wheel Hub Removal

Is there any kind of tool to remove the front wheel hub? The bearings went bad and I'm trying to remove it. I have beat on but it hasn't budged. Autozone said there is no tool available. A tool is made for every job; there has to be something available. Any ideas or suggestions would be...
