1996 Continental 98,000 Miles with Rebuilt Trans + Coil Conversion

I am looking to sell my Silver 1996 Continental w/ moonroof. It has 98,000 miles, with less than 10,000 on the new rebuilt transmission. It has had the air converted to coils (American Air Suspension Conversion Kit), new radiator fan(s) installed ($800 part alone for this model year), new tie...

Update: The actual name for the part that needs mounting is a "Multi-function Relay Device".

    96 Continental Cooling Fan Assembly

One of the fans in my 2-fan radiator cooling assembly is on it's way out (the one on the drivers side). I can get the motor for about $120 or I can get the full assembly for either $200 or $400, which leads me to my question. The only difference between the two (so I am told) is that the $400...

HELP! Best Auto Dim Rear View Mirror Replacement for '96 Conti

The seller was honest and gave me a full refund! :) Now I just need to figure out what the best model to get is. I'm thinking about the Gentex GENK30, which apparently comes with an upgraded harness. Does anyone have any input on this mirror or whether the special harness will be...

HELP! Best Auto Dim Rear View Mirror Replacement for '96 Conti

UPDATE: The mirror is a piece of #$@!. The auto dim liquid has leaked out behind the glass similar to the original one. The seller from ebay would not have known about this prior to the sale, but now that he does I'll see if he'll do anything about it. Anyway, that's my loss. I just...

    AC or Squeaky Hamster Wheel?

Thanks for the feedback. You are right MichiganTeddyBear. I have 2 radiator fans. While facing the car, it is the one on the right that's squeaking. I was able to turn it manually while all systems were off, and it made the infamous squeak. Now my question is what should I do to fix it...

    AC or Squeaky Hamster Wheel?

Assuming the 96 Continental no longer comes stock with a squeaky hamster wheel (and a 10 year old hamster), I was wondering if someone could please help verify my diagnosis (or correct it). My car started squeaking under the hood about a week ago. I thought it was a belt of some sort at...

HELP! Best Auto Dim Rear View Mirror Replacement for '96 Conti

I'm not sure, but if I had to guess I would say they probably would. The 97 fit the bill nicely though, so I can't complain. It had everything I wanted (auto dim, compass, and map/courtesy lights).

HELP! Best Auto Dim Rear View Mirror Replacement for '96 Conti

For what it's worth, I received my New Old Stock 1997 Continental rear view mirror and installed it in my 1996 Continental. It was definitely plug & play, and it works great. The whole process took all of about 3 minutes. :)

My Conti Draws Me To It !!!

 Yikes! I agree; I'm steering clear of the dealership whatever I do. What I really would like to do is buy all new air suspension parts and have someone I trust install it for me. I know it's pricey, but I really want to keep the air suspension. I'm sure half would feel the same...

My Conti Draws Me To It !!!

I take that back. The rear suspension is now definitely much lower than the front. Now it does look like a total sled. I turned ride leveling back on in the trunk and hopefully it will raise back up for now. the front seams to be working properly, but I think there is definitely an issue...

My Conti Draws Me To It !!!

OK, last night I turned the air suspension off in the trunk. It's been about 12 hours, and I don't notice a difference (yet anyway). I've never seen one of these on the ground like you guys have talked about. I'm assuming it would be pretty obvious right? Assuming I'm not leaking air, what...

AMSOIL 0W-30: Should I use It?

Ya, I just found an old thread in the Lincoln LS forum. Some of 'em swear by AMSOIL, and some say stick with conventional. I don't know. I continue to here good things about that AMSOIL though.

I was just curious what your opinions were on AMSOIL synthetic oil for my 1996 Continental. Any input is appreciated.

I don't get to Charelston very often, but I wish I did. I've got a good friend that lives in Charlotte, NC so I often go to Charleston for a few days when I'm visiting him.

HELP! Best Auto Dim Rear View Mirror Replacement for '96 Conti

I asked the seller, but he wasn't sure. However, based on some comments from other forum menbers, as well as a couple other auctions I saw on eBay earlier (the auction title stated that it was for 95-97 Continental) I'm pretty sure it will be interchangeable. They both definitely have the flat...
