So if you recommend replacing the engine, should I replace it with the 3.9, or can I put a different motor in it and still keep my Lincoln ls "brain"? And if I do go to replace it, what engines can I stick in there with the 55r5n tranny? I would like to do a 4.6, but the engine bay is so crowded...

I have a 2000 Lincoln LS 3.9V8 and I believe it has slipped timing. I was sitting at a stoplight and went to take off like normal, about 1/4 throttle, and it died. I tried to turn it back over and it just cranked and cranked with nothing happening. So I let it sit for a few minutes, approx. 5-10...
