the late 80's had bigger back seats and a nice ride, but, they are getting a little long on the tooth. The 95-97 had OBD-II, smooth ride with air springs and EPA hwy 24mpg. 95-97 can be had for 3-4K that are real nice.
FWIW I have a 89 with rear air shocks and a 95 with rear air springs. IMO similar ride quality. Tires/inflation make a big difference too. Michys are great, but they don't make a 15" whitewall anymore. I have heard numerous times that the mid 90's TC's have a softer ride then the 2000's.
that is fine. The right way means you have to pull the intake. I had a similar setup until I pulled my intake to do the valve seals. Then I did it the "right" way
Son reports no unusual noise. It stops at the same spot every time. Does this motor/circuit use current draw to determine when to shut off? I pulled a schematic so maybe that will help.
My son's 2004 Escalade's sunroof does not close all the way. It stops about 4 inches from "shut". It did this last year and we pulled the battery cable for a bit and after reconnect it worked. This technique doesn't work now. We pulled the rear TV off the ceiling to give a little viewing area...
