sorry joegr...02 V8
The wire actually came undone from the plug so it's just hanging out bare. There's really nothing back there for it to touch but I'll be sure to check fuses.
Thanks guys!
I've been trying to track down a no start issue for a little over a week now. As I was putting the valve covers back on tonight I noticed a random green wire that was disconnected. I traced it and found that it came undone from a light gray connector that sits behind the drivers side head...
Pulled both valve covers off last night (F the drivers side one) and the chains look good. I'm going to put it back together and get some new plugs to see if it will start since the old ones are way fouled out. If I can get it running I'll put a vacuum gauge on it and try to test the cooling...
Correct does not run (which could be partly due to the plugs being flooded)
And nope no unordinary noises whatsoever which has me really confused.
Thanks for the response! So based on your situation the compression wasn't affected by the secondary chain being broken. My situation would...
Quik you're absolutely right. I guess I was more referring to the fact that the motor is getting fuel. And I know there is plenty because the plugs smell strongly of fuel.
Thanks for the advice joegr. Will I be able to tell if the tensioners are broken after I take off the valve covers? Or would the timing cover have to come off?
Yup you're right I'll pop the valve covers off tomorrow night and see what's under there...
And no nothing out of the ordinary when it was running last OR when I was cranking it to check the compression.
Thanks for the response :)
After some more research I found a few different opinions on this question.
Some say that good compression in some cylinders but not in others cannot be caused by a timing chain issue.
Others disagree and say the lack of compression is due to the fact the timing chain has broken and the...
So as soon as I fix one problem another arises. I hadn't started my 02 LS V8 in about a week but when I did it fired right up and ran VERY rough. I turned it off and have not been able to get it to start since.
I checked fuel - approx 40psi at the rail
I checked spark - good to go...
Interesting tireman...I just put on new tires and still have the problem so I don't think that is it. I ordered new struts today so I'll report back when I get them installed. Thanks for the advice!
I do in fact know how to search but did not read that thread because of the title....
"Popping and Clicking when braking?" is not what my car is doing.
However, there seems to be some good information in that thread, so thank you for reply. From now on I will read everything thread...
Hi guys...long time lurker but 1st time poster. Yay for me (sarcasm) :D
Anywhoo...I've searched around quite a bit and haven't really found the answer I'm looking for.
Over the last 3 months I have gone through and replaced EVERYTHING in the front end trying to chase down a nasty...
Hey guys/gals...been lurking around here since I bought my 02 LS about 4 years ago but just joined today. I'm in the middle of doing the electric fan conversion and thought I would say hi :)
Awesome info on this site too!!

Hey guys...LONNNNNNG time lurker but first time poster (with a for sale thread of course) :D
My hydraulic pump took a crap (main seal leak) and instead of replacing it I'm doing the electric conversion.
That being said all the old hydraulic stuff from my 02 LS is available. Everything...
