I was driving home early in the morning last week with the heater goin strong. Then I pass someone and afterwards I start getting cold air on my feet. I don't know what happened, but now the car has no heat. And the air that comes out feels almost like the ac is on. It blows cold and then it the...
I have not. I honestly don't know a whole lot about suspension so I'm trying to learn as I go with this.
When I checked them yesterday they had a ford label and pn on them. As far as I know they are the original set. It was owned by an older man in Texas until 2010 when I bought it. The car...
So now it is just playing with me. It is selective of when it does it an I can't nail it down to anything specific. I'm 90% sure it is related to the air bag some how.
I think that it is worse when it is cold out. I sometimes go to work at 5 and it seems to do it more then.
The reason I say it...
I tried the lift the front end up and down on both sides and got no noise out of either. I did feel pretty strong though when the whole car was coming up haha
I checked the paperwork and it didn't list the brand of the control arms. I did see that both driver and passenger side UCA were...
Also, the car is in need of new brake pads I believe. What are the best ones for the money?
I'm not concerned with stopping power as long as it is as good as stock. Just want some that will last me a long time without braking the bank. I'm going to take a swing at changing them to same $$...
I thought it was the lower ball joint too.
What happened originally was they (Les Schwab) replaced the LCA because the ball joint was shot (found out the steering could have gone at any time). Then the car started riding differently (more bounce with the bumps which feels more correct for the...
I've had some issues with the front end of this car that after I finally resolved that the car was in good (safe) shape.
Now the last few weeks the front end has been creaking/popping and its only on the drivers side. I took it in to where I got the work done before and they looked it over...
Was thinking of trying to move the piston down. I used the key to get it where it's at now.
If I turn it down manually how will I be able to tell if the valves are closed or is it just a wing it situation?
Another concern I had was the metal shavings in the cylinder.
Thought I put a link before but it looks like I forgot to paste it. Top right in the pic on their sight.

The piston is up at the top (about 1"from the hole).
My dad is the one who bought the kit and read the instructions. I was the "helper" and now reading through the instructions it should be down along with the valves closed.
I am very much hoping the pistons not f***ed.
TDC?
There is a picture on the link below. It is the tool on the top right. It is a 2 piece tool that is held by a set screw and that apparently came loose putting me in my current position.
My 98 about 3 weeks ago had the spark plug blow out and after figuring out what the issue was I decided to get the Time Sert kit to fix it.
For step one I am drilling out the hole with the counter boar and the its going for a while and suddenly gets very difficult to turn. I try to pull it...
Apparently when I looked it was too dark. I just checked again and it was the brake warning light piece. It was broken at almost the perfect spot to where it looked like it wasn't broken (if that makes sense). Thank you again Marcus!
That's what I was thinking but when I checked it looked intact. I will look again when I have time. Spent yesterday afternoon washing cars and cleansed up the interior on the Lincoln. Was very dusty.
Here's what I found on the floor. I looked up there and couldn't find but one piece of plastic that matched it in color and it appeared to be intact.
Thank you for the picture Marcus. That is very helpful. I will try and look again this afternoon. :p
My parking brake release worked for about a year after getting the car, then it stopped and had to be released manually. About a month ago I had the frond UCAs and drivers LCA replaced to fix a big pulling issue and the parking brake released normally after that.
Today I get in and try to go...
