Detergents arent as previlant in transmission fluids as they are in engine oils if thats adding to your concern, as most of the engine oils use detergants to meet federal epa requirements. Whereas transmission fluids arent as highly scrutinized. The advance auto brand of mercon V is plenty good.

120K is a little high to be paying 3500 for that car. Any value that car had from being 'rare' is long gone due to mileage and parts he added. At this point its just another convertable fox body mustang. Maybe in 20-30 years people would be willing to overlook those aspects for the rarity...
