When I had gotten to work I noticed a leak after about 2 hours of being parked. I could just see the coolant beading up under the front drivers side, it wasn't a solid drip. But after that it hasn't leaked anymore from what i've seen. Maybe, hopefully, it was over-filled.
So how would you all go about this problem? I would clearly love the cheapest way out since I replaced the water pump assembly, upper radiator hose, power steering pump, and serpertine belt since January.
So this degas bottle is simply another name for the coolant reservoir?? Thats what i'm seeing when i've searched online. If thats the case couldnt I remove it and look for cracks? Or maybe it was over-filled?
Just had my power steering pump and serpentine belt replaced two days ago. So i get to work this morning and my car is leaking coolant under the hood on the drivers side. Any ideas?
Yes hahaha you did tell me so. Any suggestions on where to get the parts. A local mechanic told me that I needed the pump replaced and belt replaced and he would do it for $500. Is this a good deal?
So I went to O' Reilly's to get some belt dressing to fix this annoying chirp. The worker there was looking at my belt while I was spraying the dressing on and he said it looks like I have a bent power steering pulley from the belt movement in that certain area. I just had my power steering...
I can see one part of the belt "shaking" just from the cramped view looking under the hood. Im guessing this is the cause of the chirp/squeal. Ive heard that belt dressing is a "band-aid" but what am I looking to replace in the long run?
Finally got a local mechanic to put the new hose on. Got it home and everything is fine, but now im getting a horrible squeak that sounds like its coming from the belt because it the chirp/squeak gets faster with acceleration. any ideas?
So is it really as simple as taking off the old hose, putting the new one on, and filling it with fluid? Please tell me its as simple as it sounds. Everything is just so damn cramped under the hood.
So im trying to replace the power steering pressure hose on my 2004 v8 LS that is leaking and it just recently started even spraying on the belt beside the pump causing the worst squealing noise ever. Ive disconnecting the hose on the rack side but cannot disconnect the hose from the pump side...
