Rear vision
That's great that you can use the navigation system screen to see cars that are behind you while you're driving. Isn't that what rearview mirrors are for?
The shakes
I've had this problem with both outside mirrors on my '05 Aviator - the vibrate / wiggle at speeds between 50-60 mph. I took it into the dealer shortly after I bought it to have them look at the problem. I think they replaced the motors in both sides, but that did not have any...
Aviator demise
I agree that it's a shame the Aviator was discontinued. Despite your numerous sitings, the vehicle simply did not sell well at the price point that Lincoln was offering it at. The list price for a base Aviator was similar to the list price for a base Lexus GX470; unfortunately...
Did you get the rear seat entertainment system? If so, you can plug an iPod into the RCA inputs that are in the ceiling. Otherwise, you may want to check with a local car stereo installer to see if he can add an input jack to your system,
Navigation and RSES
I believe that the rear seat entertainment system did not change during the 3 year run ('03-'05). The '05 version will accept MP3s (supposedly), but I'm not sure about the '03 or '04 versions. Quite honestly, you're better off without it and buying a portable DVD (or 2)...

2004-05 Aviator differences
Lincoln is not making the Aviator in model year 2006. The current Explorer based version bowed out in model year 2005 due to lackluster sales. The nameplate will return in model year 2007 as a crossover vehicle based on a Mazda platform.
That being said, the...
Other Aviator questions
Thanks for the information. How did you know you could get the Explorer FIPK to fit? Did you reflash your computer like the instructions suggest? Was that easy to do?
Have you looked into any exhaust modifications? I've seen a kit with a low restriction muffler...
K&N FIPK
What K&N part number did you use for the FIPK? K&N doesn't list one for the Aviator, but they do for the Explorer / Mountaineer with the 4.6L SOHC: 57-2539. I assume this is the one you used, but wasn't sure if it fit the Aviator with the DOHC 4.6.
