Thank you for the info joe and dale y’all never cease to amaze with the knowledge of these cars. Was hoping to not have to remove im but I will start on it this afternoon weather permitting. I’ll update how it goes and again thanks for sharing.
Yes I do know that part from replacing a dccv on my first gen. I do also see what looks like the same part on my second gen but pretty positive that’s not the suspect. It’s bone dry and way to low and forward in the engine to be the leak. Unless it could be faulty and causing the leak elsewhere...
There’s a lot of gurgling/hissing going on from just under the throttle body but like I said I can see no leak at all up there but it just pours out from the back so something is letting it gush out at a fast rate. Lots of steam rising from aroun intake manifold front and back.
Actually I do know of the water pump I had replaced that also on my first gen years ago. I misread and thought there was a second water pump you were referring to.
Thermostat and all housing components were replaced with motorcraft parts. All oem. Was not aware of the auxiliary water pump? Could you tell me more about it. I have not replaced the dccv valve but I’m fairly certain it’s not the suspect. I had replaced one in my first gen years ago but this...
hey guys read everything I could find last couple days and been digging around trying to find this leak. It’s an 03 v8. I replaced all plastic coolant parts and radiator back in may of last year. Sitting in a drive thru few days back and sounded like a water faucet turned on under my car...
Thanks joe I knew you would come thru with some help. Yes degas bottle is next and I will only use motorcraft. I didn’t make it thru the bleeding procedure before I noticed the leak. Swapped the radiator out and refilled with premium gold coolant. Started her up and let it hit normal temp so the...
found a little info that sounded similar but not a real clear suspect yet. 03 v8. Just got it about 2 months ago. Replaced upper radiator hose, split at plastic seam. Then the tstat housing. Replace the radiator today it sprung a leak last week. All seemed good was going thru bleeding process...
Well our problems seem a little different since you still have power to some accessories (windows sunroof etc). I would check the fuses in the trunk and if they all seem good I would agree with joe that something happens with the data bus. Mine say the same errors but that’s because none of the...
Thank you. ya I’ve gotten a ticket for blocking the sidewalk once already at my old house but driveways are so small here they don’t ticket us for it.wish I had more space haha. That’s one reason I can’t keep the 2000 is because of parking here.
Thank you. Doors were kinda a pain to build both the 8 and the 4 are in sealed enclosures. Tricky to fit the 8 but stay behind the existing door panel. I didn’t want anything to concave out if that makes sense wanted it to stay as flat as possible with nothing sticking out any further than the...
Okay so I wanted to snap a few pics today of both of them so here you go. First is “silver fox”. 2000 v8. Dead!!! Here’s a few pics of the door pods I built and the subs in rear deck. Remember I wasn’t even close to being finished. The doors need to be painted and then vinyl was going to be...
Thanks buddy it was like Christmas last night couldn’t sleep thinking about getting the new ride haha!!! Can’t wait to get some thing going on the 03 and share some pics of what I did to the interior of the 00. Still would like to know what’s up with the first gen tho I’ve never been unable to...
I’ve traced as far as I could go with what tools I have. Just a simple multimeter and test light. Yes I have a system in the car. I installed myself but it is completely Unhooked at the moment. I Built custom enclosures for a lot of stereo shops around here and pretty familiar with 12volts and...
Thanks guys I certainly appreciate the advice. I’m assuming the alt will need replacing since I did have a check charging light on periodically when this happened. But like you said I could remove the alt and as long as I had a good battery I should have power to things just off battery voltage...
Thanks joe I really appreciate it. I’m really considering picking it up this weekend. Like I said i need wheels for work and I want to fix the brakes and cooling Plastics under the hood before I start daily driving. Owner has blown away about how much I knew about the car and didn’t really even...
