02 LS V8 vs 01 Jetta with a chip

Tonight i was at a local hang out( alot of rice cars :shifty: ) anyways one of my friends friend was talking :q:q:q:q about my friends bmw and how he can beat him with his (Chipe'd Jetta and stage 3 clutch) and then he all of a sudden started talking about how his 4 door car is the fastest one at the place just because they told him with the chip he will run high 14's, anyways after hearing alot of bull:q:q:q:q talk i call'd him out to a DIG and 40 MPH races, (he had a excuse that his car is only running 16 psi and not 20psi because his car is in limp mode ) anyways after a while his friends told him to go rape me lol... DIG race= 0-100 off the line got him by a car and was just pulling hard until i didnt shut down at 100...3+ cars.... 40 ROLL race= my second gear start off he gets a little jump because he went on 2nd honk and after that it took me by the end of second gear to stop his pull, and once i was safely in 3rd i just started walking by him and by 120 i had about 2-3 cars on him (had to shut down there cuz im limited to that )

Anyways my car is stock, and his car is a 5 speed too and with the mods i alredy said up there... anyways i know its bad street racing but i had to shut this :q:q:q:q:q:q:q up, and plus now all the ricers are scarred of the heavy LINCOLN

why roll race? Roll racing was invent by these little imports to compensate for their lack of torque, turbo lag, and the driver's genuine inability to get off the line properly.....

You put your V8 at a disadvantage by not running like real racing.

I am not trying to start something But if he really was in Limp Mode he is running alot less than 16PSI.....My Girl has a jetta with a 1.8t and it runs stock 7-10 psi and she rapes my all day from a dead stop....That car will launch like you wont believe....From a roll Its pretty close...But if he is running 20 PSI it would be faster that 14.+ Those cars are sick....Nice Kill also...

I am only a v6 too....How much faster is the v8 Is it ALOT or just alittle

Im sure a chipped Jetta is pretty fast, Ive been in a chipped 1.8T golf with intake and exhaust and it was fast as hell!! It would eat the LS alive. You cant mess with turbos, unless you have a SC like Quik

My view has always been that I can go buy a beat up Mustang for $2K and dump 3K in the motor and beat cars all day with it. Or would I rather have a car with class. For the money all of you have spent on LS's, you all could have went out and bought Z28's or Mustangs and been much faster. The LS is what it is. A car with a lot of class and a little bit of punch behind it.

Well said. The above mentioned cars are all fast,but that fades away(in my opinion) after you drive them for a while.Every car has a purpose,whether it be performance,economy,luxury,4x4,etc.Our cars happen to to be luxury with performance thrown in.

Lincoln didn't design these cars for street racing,but rather a nice luxury vehicle with excellent handling dynamics. These are the things that influenced my purchase as I could have bought a new vette if I wanted to,but I didn't. Besides, I am too old for street racing (30). I think I'll by the vette when I hit mid-life crisis- I think that's the GM target audience for it anyway......

hey guys, sorry if some of u did not understand the race too well, i just want to make it clear that i take very good care of my LS and that i usualy dont race it much expect then and today i went to track and did 15.4 @92 mph just to know where i stack up against other cars... these cars are very expensive to fix so im taking it easy most of the time, but sometimes the car just wants to be driven hard expecialy in the curves oh and the jetta didnt seem liek it had any problems at all, i think that the LS is a little better car on the highway thats all...
