The car has been well maintaind and has 165,000 miles on the body. Last spring the engine started to knock and the mechanic said the timing had skipped and a valve was bent, so I had a new engine put in the car, the new replacement engine had 50,000 miles on it, total cost $3200. Last winter I had a brand new transmission installed and it cost $2800. It has a new set of coil packs $300 and comes with an extra set of tested working packs. New high quality sport brake pads, calipers, and rotors in the front last week $350. I put a new Lincoln windshield in and wipers in the spring $500 . New spark plugs double platinum plugs and air filter last week. Tires have 10,000 miles on them, with 40,000 remaining. Why pay the extra $1500 at a dealer for a car that has not been maintained like this one? I am at $1500 below blue book value at 165,000 miles. Take into account that the car has a low milage engine and transmission and you have a great running, looking car for a great price!
The engine and transmission are from a 2002 lincoln ls that had the sport package. This means it is capable of the 35 more horsepower by just hooking the 2002 sport package computer to the car. I have seen the computer with sport package sell on ebay for $50. The car has the 2000 computer installed and it will give it the best economy and also enough power for passing. The lincoln ls v8 is a very high powered engine in the regular version.
You can't see the color change int he pictures and that is a shame, in person this car is dreamy!
For comparison, it has around 235 hp to the rear wheels now which is stock for the 2000 v8, a caprice classice from 1984 with a v8 305 had 175 horsepower to the rear wheels stock. The lincoln ls is about the same weight some how after all those years. The horsepower however is not the same. The ls has 60 more horse power as is sits right now, and you could get another 35 with the other computer.
Car handles like a $43,000 car new should
If you are looking for a good looking sporty car, and have the money, call me and I will take you for a ride! I promise you will want this car after that.
