Bought my LS from a friend in November of 2015 who has recently opened a used car lot. Very beautiful and fun car to drive. I recently took it on a 500 mile road trip and after I returned I started to notice it was running a bit rough. Nothing that somebody who has never driven this car would notice but just enough for me to notice. It also has been emiting a thin cloud of white smoke when accelerating. Not really sure where to start looking for the problem. Any suggestions??

White smoke or steam? Steam = Not Good.

After doing some digging I removed 3 ignition coils (Two on the passenger side and one on the driver side) all of which had a significant amount of oil on them. So I would assume that means I need a valve cover gasket replacement? Possibly need to change the ignition coils? Am I in the ballpark?

Was the smoke coming from under the hood or out of the exhaust pipe?
I assume this is the V8 (3.9L)?
Replace valve cover gaskets. Also get the two gaskets for the VCT solenoids that stick through the valve covers.
Replace all eight COPs (coils), use Motorcraft.
Replace all eight spark plugs (must be done at the same time) set the gaps to 1.0mm, exactly.
Very, very soon you will find that you need to replace all of the plastic cooling system parts (about $500, more if the radiator needs to be replaced too). Don't use Dorman parts, get Motorcraft. http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/forum/showthread.php?91092-GenII-LS8-Cooling-System-Overhaul
