Hey everyone. Been working today on an '04 LS V8. The car cranks strong, runs for a second or two, then dies. Caught a whiff of fuel during a couple of starting attempts. No odd service messages & all the warning lights are acting like they should. All the appropriate fuses are ok.

Any suggestions? I'm going to dig into it, check fuel pressure and such in the morning but thought I'd post here this evening to see if anyone can point out something really obvious that I'm missing Also, yes, I did a search on LvC which yielded ideas on how to check the fuel pump etc.

Appreciate the help. Thanks!

I would start by replacing the fuel filter, then check the fuel fuel pressure, after that, chance are good that you may have a coiling coil or 7.

Unplug the MAF, and see if it will start and run that way. If it does, you either have an intake air leak somewhere, a dirty MAF, or a defective MAF.

Unplugging the MAF did the trick. Thanks for the suggestions; much appreciated. #ThankYou
