I have a 2005 Lincoln LS I just replaced the engine in and when trying to start there’s nothing, not a single crank. All the lights come on- dash, outside, inside etc. I checked all the obvious things and nothing appears to be out of order. I can hear relays in the front of the car moving when trying to start. I also tried to manually jump the starter and although it’s getting power nothing happened. is it a starter issue or something deeper?

Sorry this just appeared in my email from LVC. If you are still having a problem by now and you applied power to the starter correctly and it did not try to engage or nothing happened then i would say you have stuck brushes or a completely dead starter. Make sure the car is in Park and take a hammer or a ratchet and lightly tap around on the starter while someone turns the key over. If you are by yourself then you can tap on it and then go try to start it yourself. Sometimes when vehicles set up for awhile the brushes will rust a little and stick when you try to start the vehicle.

Meant to post an update but i figured it out. Charging harness I had was from a thunderbird so the starter signal wire connector was different and there for never hooked up. hooked it up and she started right up!
