I blew one of my 6x8's a couple weeks ago, so I replaced them with 6x9's. Sounded better but not enough power for them. So I threw one of my fusion power plants in a house subwoofer enclosure to see how it would work. I ran one channel of the stock amp wired down to 2 ohms on the dual voice coils. I had no problems at all with the stock amp, the sub filled in nicely. So today I worked out the volume numbers and built a box for it. I am seriously impressed how good it sounds in a ported box. It matches the front speakers perfectly. No cutting out or over heating at max volume. Shakes the whole inside of the car. It sounds better then a couple of my friends bestbuy systems. So to sum it up, the stock amp will run 1 12 with no issues off a single channel on the stock amp. When I hooked it up at 4 ohms (1 coil) it was barley audible, when I dropped it down to 2 ohms (positive to positive, negative to negative) on the speaker it actually sounds good. Also their is room for a pair of aftermarket amps on the amp rack. I think I'm gonna throw a fusion power plant 402 in their when I get time.
