1-2 shift

my 94 mark shifts really hard on the 1-2 shift. i had this tranny in my 95 cougar and it was fine. as soon as i put it in the mark it started to shift hard. it really doesnt bother me, i was just wondering what they problem is. my guess is that its the 1-2 acumulator. im goin to school for high performance automotive and ti is the only thing i can think it could be off the top of my head.

:iconcur: Use Mercon V fluid when done - do the torque conv as well.

Ford does not recomend the mercon5 fluid unless the trans is being rebuilt.

Thats pretty common sense.Sorry I left it out.And no you can upgrade to Mercon V without rebuild.I did and my shudder is gone.In fact it was a ford service bulletin that it was recommend to do so back in 94.
