1/4 mi times settled...whats 0-60?

15.3 is right, I know hundreds of stock lincolns that run 15.4-15.6 it aint uncommon. you think a stock mark VIII is going have Mustang Cobra preformance, they have 10 more hp, a 5 or 6 speed, higher gear ratio and they are lighter, talking about what your car might run in a dream will not make it go faster in reality.

I my self ran a 15 flat with a tune up but it was anywhere from 15.0-15.4

Taken from that site.

Ah, this is so refreshing. Guess this settles the "Who's faster" argument between Gen 1's and Gen 2's.

1993 Lincoln Mark VIII 7.1 15.4
1995 Lincoln Mark VIII 7.6 15.8
1996 Lincoln Mark VIII 7.2 15.4
1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC 7.0 15.3

Don't hate me because I'm faster.

Gen 2's rule while Gen 1's drool.

I noticed that the '94 is missing from the list..... Could it be because "IT" is the fastest? MUhhhahahahahaha!!!! :waving:

There you go again taking your facts from some Gen2 friendly site.. :N you need a more non bias site..

You like those girly girl lines of the Gen 2 don't you... :N :F

I prefer the more masculine aggressive look of the Gen 1... :woowoo2:

What's yours run at the track?

mine...14.9 is the best, usuial is 15.01-5 and i weigh 280 lbs, and thats with the spare and jak in the car too.

I can fully appriciate how people run 14.6 stock. Prolly cause they are real light, the take out the spare and jack, run on like 1/8 tank, and do a fresh tune up, and their car has low miles. Most people im assuming have higher miles and thats making the car go slower. When i ran 14.9 i had a hair above 49k on mine. low low low miles, so the performance was still there.

yeah, i know this car aint a mustang, but it isnt a beatle either.

The only reason that those times change are due to track conditions, and launching/shifting technique.

they better use better drivers...losing 8 tenths in a stock mark? come on now. if it were a torque monster that always lost tires, i could see 8 tenths, but not with a stock mark. They have :q:q:q:qty drivers.

My car ran 14.9-15.0 at 95mph stock all day. Next week it will hopefully be running a full second quicker and 5mph faster than my stock time with just bolt ons and some "rear end work."

BTW, stock 0-60mph is anywhere from 6.5-7.0 seconds. My car does 0-60mph in under 6 seconds with stock gears and no posi.

now 0-60 in a stock mark VIII can be rather long, however I believe its any where from 6.4-8.0 that covers new to poorly tuned, I belive mine is 4.9-5.4 with some good drag tires

How did you calulate this? I did it on my cam and came out to be 8.2-8.5 sec. I have 68000 miles on it.

oh yeah, there were two peolpe sitting in my car including me. About 300 LB all together. Also nothing was removed like the spare tire.

I have beaten every gen 2 that I have raced about 5-6 with no problem.even when my 94 was all stock it still out ran 'em.also the styling on the gen2 does not do anything for me. just my opinion.

10 more hp??? What Cobra are you talking about?? The 03/04 has 390 grossly underated hp. Most stock Cobras ran 380 to 385 at the wheels. Most ran high 12's bone stock. They also run 3.55 gears which may be numerically higher, but are actually called lower. Confusing I know.

Most Cobras have had a simple pulley and tune mod and easily reach 450 rwhp and run high 11's around 120 mph...if you can hook them.

Yea...I own an 04. My midlife crisis. And the most fun I have ever had on 4 wheels.
