I finally took my car to the track today. It was high school nationals, so a lot of young kids who dont know what they're doing were up there. I raced in the brackets and made it to the final ten. The person before me was a jackass and got water all on the track from rolling through the water box. So, I got eliminated by a 16.1 second t bird. I spun through 1st because of the water, and I ended up catching up to him RIGHT before the finish line. It obviosuly wasnt enough, he ended up beating me by .0304. I was pissed I guess you could say, but it was fun. I think next time I go, I will have better tires and hopefully they will prepare the track much better. BTW, Tommorow I will have some videos, along with pictures and timeslips to post up and show you guys. The best run of the night was:

R/T - +.5439
60' - 2.3901
330' - 6.4630
1/8et - 9.7501
1/8mph - 75.11
1/4et - 14.8560 (my dail-in was 14.85)
1/4mph - 97.03

Nice numbers, all but that 60'. Get it to hook and you'll shave a bit. I bet if you could catch a high 2.2, you'd hit 14.6.

Not a lucky guess on my part, I've been running my LSE and have determined that my 60' will determine my ET. And my MarkVIII my best 60' was a pathetic 2.5high, therefore 15.4 is after the fact not surprizing. Getting it to stick will be the challenge, right now with the #6 spark plug wire&plug busted throu the plastic wire cover, traction isn't the problem.

The track was NOT prepped at all. People we're slippin and sliding all over the place. When I go back and the track is prepped properly, im sure I could hit a 14.6. I spun my tires for about the first 20-30 ft. It was an intense day though. I was the last person from my school to be eliminated, and everybody was pumped about my lincoln basically running everybody's sh1t. 5 wins and 2 losses. The 1 loss was against a built cutlass. The second was my last race of the day against the tbird. As I said before, the bracket would have been mine..... If the track would have been prepped properly.

Yep, judging by your 60 foot time and MPH you can definately hit 14.6 with a 2.2 60 foot time. Look at my sig at what my 98 LSC ran at the track with a 2.2 60 foot time...

Yep, It was a good time. My dad got a big video of it. I just need to get it on the computer and post it up.

Not bad. If you're going to be bracket racing work on that RT.
Yeah, It was my first time ever running. I think when I go on the test and tune days, I will be able to get more practice and run better times.

I had the only other Mark there, a '97 LSC, bone stock. My best run, which just so happened to be the one that made me breakout and lose:

Reaction: +.0819
60 ft: 2.3281
330 ft: 6.250
1/8 ET: 9.9341
1/8 MPH: 72.58
1/4 ET: 15.2301
1/4 MPH: 93.20

I lost in the same round as the last other person from my school (who has an 11.something Nova and a dyno in his garage), and MarkVIII93. Oh well. We made it to Elimination round 4, so I'd say we did pretty good. I think changing the PSI in my tires from 30 to 35 is what made me run too fast, as I'd been doing 15.3-15.4 all day up until then. I had my index at 15.25 originally, then raised it to 15.30. Neither would have really done me any good, but the person I was against had a breakout too, but only by .0078, so it didn't really matter.

Also, everyone was complaining about traction all day. My friend with a Trans Am, and my other friend with a Camaro Z28 did nothing but spin off the line. Even my Mark had a lot more spin than I usually do, but at least I got to run more than my friends who got eliminted in the first round. I was pretty glad for my first time at the strip, we're all thinking about going back on wednesday, along with a few more friends, so that might be a little more fun.
