Hi,

I been looking at rims, I’m not real sure what size to get 18 inch or 17 inch?
I’m not looking for a hard ride so what I’m thinking 17’s.

like opinions, what do you think look good on a White Opalescent Mark VIII ?, thinking about cobra r's, I never thought Cragar S/S would look good till I seen geno's car with them,

Good question Rick. I can't make up my mind either.

i have been trying to figure it out myself and have basically decided to go with 17's due to two factors: tire cost (much lower on 17's) and wheel weight (also lower).

I agree. I am looking at getting new rims as well and am pretty sure that I'm going with 17s. If you look at the cost difference on tires, It's huge.

I'm also in this same prediciment.

I'm pushing towards 18's in the future...

17's are nice for the price, but 18's have more rim and look better.

My problem is... I have to wait til these damn tires get bald, and that'sa going to be a while.

*cough* Brakestands *Cough* :gr_devil:

Personally, I went with 17's, but it is a toss up. Go to tirerack.com and rimstop.com to see what different wheels will look like on your car. Happy hunting.

I went with the 17" Cobra R's... They are balanced perfectly and a fit like a glove.
I have 255/50/17 tires. The sidewall is only .3" shorter than stock, so the ride is
still smooth. I love the Cobra R's they work well...

had 18" ASA J5 rims on my '93 Mark VIII then got it lowered... and now on my new '98 Mark VIII LSC I have 20" chrome Velocity 495 wheels, will get it lowered soon.

Incidentally, if you're looking for rims, I am looking to sell my 18" ASA J5 rims, they are in excellent condition, with 245/45YR-18 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires on them, pretty much the best all season tires money can buy... email me if you're interested @ brendangillespie@hotmail.com
