There are a few things wrong with that car, some minor some more serious. But it needs an alignment and would that even fix the problem or was it lowered to much. I did see some flaws in the paint. And I know it is a custom engine, but they never came with 351's in them so it lost it's value as a collector item to a degree. And some of the gaps on the body looked to small in some areas and to big in others.

i dunno about the alignment i think it has an airbag system. if you look at the last pic the rear end is sitting much higher then it is in the first couple pics.

1. "The car sits and sounds awesome with a tubular control 4-corner air ride suspension by Air Ride Technologies"

2. There are flaws in just about any paint job, nothing is perfect

3. "Collector item" is obviously NOT the point of this car, it is a custom, and most likely more attention to detail was paid than the factory.

4. Again, never perfect. I'm sure the guy would love it if you came down there and tried to align whats there.

i didnt see one imperfection in the paint, and aside from the statement made by the seller about the air ride.. id figure the compressor in the trunk woulda gave it away ;)

I saw the compressor and I know the air ride system. That car should be able tyo be driven exactly how it is sitting. As a former owner of a 64 conti , I know a thing or 2 about them. And yes the paint is flawed very flawed if you can see it in a pic from 15 feet away, or there was poor body work done to the rear passenger door. And just because you put 120k into a car doesn't mean it was spent wisely or taken to the right people. And a car with that kind of power should not have an air ride suspension, thats asking for trouble.

And as for trying to align what was there, I see where he was going with the look, just didn't quite get it there. There will be many problems in the future with this car.

Obviously you didn't since you said the car was "lowered too much". And maybe you can drive it on the smooth roads of California, but don't hit a bump or an uneven rythm section on the highway! WOW, you used to have a 64 conti, come here so I can give you a cookie smart guy! Yea, they did decent bodywork to the rest of the car, but when it came to that back door you speak of, they must have just said "F^&* IT!" right? Why shouldn't it have air ride with "that kind of power"?

I will own a 64 conti... One of my dream cars!

That car is beautiful even though "some" may choose to nitpick it to death...

Get over yourself man... jeeeeesh

Workmanship looks awfully good to me. I'm not standing there in person but with that amount invested I don't see how there would be very many 'real' flaws. Too bad about the air suspension. Custom engine is pretty interesting and at least it's a Ford family engine. It's just a 'little' odd to me that this type of stuff would be done to that type of car. Imagine a Thunderbolt (or clone) or an early Fairlane fastback, Cougar or even a T-bird built more or less like that.

You couldn't hope to really use that engine to potential in that, ahem, large car on that suspension with that rubber. But, whoever ends up with it, will have the bragging rights. :)
