1994 Continental - A Few Things

I've just recently bought my 94 continental.

Over the last few weeks I've noticed a few things. Perhaps you guys might offer some insight.

Firstly, My guages are beeping at me, oil pressure, check engine. I now about the DCL tuneup but have not had a chance to give it a go yet. Hopefully it works (that beeping is really irritating)

Secondly, The other day on the right side of the display a message popped up "Brake Lamp" It stays lit at all times. Also, ever since that message popped up my left signal has been blinking double time. Both inside the cabin and outside the car.

Thirdly, The climate control center doesn't seem to work unless its set to "Max" on the dial. (Fan speed at its highest) Also the climate control doesnt seem to work. Am I simply doing this wrong or is there something wrong?

Fourthly, the rear passenger door doesnt lock with the car and grinds loudly when I use the lock button. I have a feeling the motor is either shot or simply not engaging. How easy is it to pull apart the door and conversly how easy would it be to replace the motor? (Or whatever it is)

Lastly, The rear driver door seems to have a slower motor on the window. Its not a big deal because it still works 100%, but if I'm going to be looking at the wreckers I should get the whole thing done right? Same question, how easy would it be to replace it?

Also, I have a few questions that are not as repair related. Does the stock sterero have an AUX in by chance? I plan to put in a CarPC and was wondering if I would need to replace everything.

Finally, has anybody made any modifications to their continentals I might try. I like the car a lot as it is but I'm just not sure what I can do to it, you know?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys!

1st ?.. the dcl tune should fix ya

2nd... you got a burned out left rear bulb.. change it.

3rd.. a little more detail... but it sounds like either blower speed control is bad, or the eatc unit, or one of its sensors.

4th.. yea, power lock actuator probably bad. not sure how hard it is to change, never done one.

5th.. dirty regulator and parts, or sometimes the window seals can cause a drag on the glass causing that...

if you have the external cd player (some did, some didn't), you could concievably use that for an aux.. but I would replace the whole thing, just to make sure everything matched up right signal level wise... ford was strange about that.. (odd signal levels)

The tranny's are not the strongest out there.. they can't take a lot of 'extra' power. The 3.8 can be made to produce, (its basically the same as the T-bird and Cougar 3.8's, just fwd'ed).. its possible to beef it up, just gotta be carefull
