1994 Lincoln contenental air silencer

Hello i would like to know if it would do anything to my gas milage if i took out my air silencer in my 1994 Lincoln contenental. and would it do anything to like add power

ive been askin the same question for ever and never got an answer... all ive found out so far is it will make it alittle louder... youde probably see some better gains (dont know how much better) but better.. if you added a K&N filter?

Better Gas?

for my 94 conti.. whats a better gas? regular or plus... since its only a v6 i dont think premium is necessary but will Plus make a significant difference?

And if i do put plus in.. can you mix it.. like i have 2 gallons of regular in my tank.. is it bad to mix gas's?

yea i took the air silencer out today it is a little louder but can barly tell it is out iia m going to drive for a few days and see how the gas milage is on it

wheezy to answer yours and his query.
the k&n setup will give you 3 things.
1.a little louder snarl under the hood under heavy acceleration
2.most clam a 1-2 mpg increase in fuel economy.
3.a 1-5 horsepower increase from the intake being much less restricted.

note on 3 it takes a 15-20 horsepower increase to see a true and noticable differance,but some will swear they feel it "right now"

also some have claimed maf and drivability problems from this setup,this is usually caused by the oil in the filter coating the maf.follow the instructions and you should be ok.99.9% are. :wrench

p.s. i have always run 89 in my car since it was new and it has never once spark knocked or given me any type of grief.and it will fly.

1999 Conti

I paid to have the 'air silencer' removed and also got the green manchine or something like that, comperable to the K&N, but better I guess from what the guy at the shop told me anyway, sounds alot more aggressive that's for sure! He had to take my tire off, some plastic molding too. Only took him a few minutes. I also got the SuperChips and Flowmasters 40 series. So my Conti sounds alot more aggressive as I said before, but not offensive like the little angry bumble bees flying around....LOL

with a 94 v6 conti you dont need to put in premium gas
you can run fine on 89

Can someone tell me how to take the ar silencer out?? maybe a picture of what it looks like?? dont know how to do it

it is in the air box all it is is a cone looking thing in the air box all you have to do to take it out is twist it untill it clicks and it should then come right :L
