1995 a/c Question

You guy here rock thank you for the vent help now it seems i have another problem the ac temp goes up and down when i drive as far a temp it never gets really to cool and i set it on 60 but it seems when i come to a stop it is cooler and when i take off and ideas on what i can do to fix this problem and remeber im not a mechanic so you have to use crayons and chalk lol

some things you can check easily yourself..

make sure the condensor (in front of rad) is clean with straight fins.
make sure the fans run properly when AC is on (I believe they should be on HIGH for your car)
make sure the belt isnt slipping (you would probably know, its noisy when they do)

things to have a shop look at (if you dont have the equipment)

Pressure tests of the system (both high and low side). These readings tell wonders about the condition of the system.

thanks for the info i need to take it in and have it the a/c check out it needs to freon!!!
 
one thing to remember about AC systems..

they are TOTALLY sealed systems. if it needs a recharge, it has a leak somewhere.

it may be as simple as some dried out o-rings (fairly cheap fix), or much more expensive, depending on what is leaking.

the thing to remember is that there are AC systems from the 60's and 70's that are still working, fully charged, and never have been recharged.
