Hi Everybody

I am in the proces of buying a 1995 Lincoln Town Car "Signiture Series" and do not know much about these cars.

I am told by everybody that they are good, dependable cars.

It is the first ford product in my family in over 70 years! and I am told that a Lincoln is a totaly different animal as compared to the Cadillacs that I am used to working on.

I realy like it. It is a very pretty shade of red with Black leather seats and everything else on the inside is red.

I plan to drive it as a daily driver.

The car has 200.000 miles on it but the motor and trany only have 72.000 miles and the motor was rebuilt before it was instaled in it. The motor came out of a police car.

It looks like new and drives so nice!

Since I will be driving it year-round (Up here we have lots of Salt on the roads in the Winter) can you tell me what trouble spots I will have to watch out for rust wise. I plan to never let it get the slightest bit rusty for I plan to own this beauty indefenitly.

O'yea... It even has the Butt Warmers! Every option exept the sun roof.

As you can tell; I realy like this car.

Thanks to you all.

Cadillacs have a Northstar V8 the lincolns have the Modular V8. Northstars are usually more costly to work on and going by a couple mechanics harder to work on. So since you seem to be familiar with some mechanics you prolly won't have a problem with this.

The engine swap sounds like it came from a Crown Vic which has the same Modular V8.

Since yours is a 95 it should have the metal intake manifold instead of the faulty plastic ones they put on the 96-02s unless it got switched in the engine swap.

The Signature Series is a step above the Executive and a step below the Cartier, so basically you have a medium amount of buttons lol.

watch for rust on the dog legs first then the fender wells
when you wash the car wash up under the fender lips and dog legs dont let dirt and salt just sit on them ledges

well one thing you could do is take it to a ford dealership and have it z barred that is they spray some tar like stuff up in the bottom of the car they do it from the factory but most people dont stay up on it but trust me it saves lives.:dancefool

Hi-- I have a 95 TC Signature & love it. It has 2 major flaws: 1. The air bags failed and then the pump quit-- wore out trying to keep bags flled--- I got rid of the air ride system and put in springs & new shocks-- It rides good, but not as good as when the air ride was working right. 2. The windshiled wipers wont park. The parking cam in the wiper gears wore out and there is no replacement part available unless one came out within the last year. I got one from the salvage yard & it worked for a while, but now it is wore out. Otherwise, we love our Town Car. Good Luck with yours.

I forgot about the transmission shudder-- I tried changing the fluid, but that didn't work, so my grandson who works as a mechanic did a complete pumpout of the fluid including the torque converter and put in Mercon-V fluid-- that ended the shudder
