Hey everyone,
First off, the only reason I am getting rid of my Mark is for a classic... 1982 GT mustang with the 4speed.
The car is black on black with the ubber grandpa side chrome things. Paint on the body still shines up quite well with a good waxing. The bumpers could use a respray, but the body looks good for a 95 after some nanowax. I am going to clay bar and polish the entire thing this Saturday (this is if no one wants it before then). The interior is in good shape, no rips or tears. All the speakers work, antenna goes up and down, AC and heat work well, seats move and inflate.
I drove it 100miles per day this summer is the CT heat on the parking lot that is I-84 and the charter oak bridge.
Engine runs strong! This car will keep up with late model 4.6l mustangs. It is, in my humble opinion, a factory freak. Allow me to explain this position. I had a 93 with the same mileage. It ran very well, but this 95 pulls like it's in an entirely different league. I live in central CT and from my times on "the pike", it is hard to find a factory stock car that this car will have trouble hanging with. The growl from the 4.6 and the wind whipping you in the face makes you fall in love with this car every time you take it out. That being said, I never beat on this car. I've driven it gingerly 99% of the time to get good gas mileage. Like other gen 1's, I could see 27-28mpg on highway trips at 70mph.
Enough of that..
trans shifts decent - like a stock 4R70W. Fresh fluid.
tune up 10k ago - plugs, wires, new alternator.
oil pressure sending unit changed, I chased a leak from this area for a while thinking it was the filter gasket, it wasn't.
Fushion Hri's have about 10k on them, good tread still (no burnouts )
The bad:
Egr tube or valve has a small leak - I was quoted at $300 but never got around to it. I was told it should not effect the way the car drives.
Needs passenger side O2 sensor- recently starting throwing CEL's after driving it for a 50+ miles. O2 sensor is an easy fix. I just drove it 300 miles with no problems.
No other problems really. You can get in and drive it. Once the o2 sensor is changed I would drive it anywhere.
I would like to get $2200 for it, but the first reasonable cash offer takes it. I think it would make a good bracket racer or commuter car for another 75k miles.
