I just changed out the airbags in my mark viii for the lowered strutmasters conversion kit and now I want to change the rear shocks also. Any suggestions on which ones to buy? I found a pair for 200 bucks at suncoreindustries.com and a pair for 140 at arnottindustries.com???

I agree:) That's what I put in mine and work great and the best part is the something like $52 price tag.:D

I forgot to mention they won't have them listed for the Mark VIII, the ones for the Thunderbird is what you are looking for.

I heard the ones for the thunderbird are too short?
you heard wrong,lol

honestly,i think a lot of us on here have tbird shocks and work fine

i have the monroes, they work......the Mark VIII isnt even listed in Monroes book, i looked at it myself at the parts store, just ask for T-Bird ones......... 5965's

Ya, you want the Monroe Sensatrac 5965's for a mid 90's t-bird. I've got them like a lot of other's and they rule. Just don't get the cheap Monroe Gas-Matics, etc...

OK so Monroe Sensatrac 5965's. Do I get the same year as my car but in tbird? and does it come with the upper mounts? This guy told me to watch out cause alot of people give you just the shocks and no upper mounts.

t-birds didnt use mounts like ours......you have to reuse yours, either burn the rubber off of yours, or i you dont feel like finding a torch get a knife and slash away :D .....after you get the rubber off, use the rubber bushings that come with the shocks with your shock mount.........

I bought the Edelbrock IAS shocks for the 99 to 2003 Cobra and the solid mounting plates. Spent about $200 and love them! I wish the front struts were as good. They also make these shocks for lowered Cobra's.

If you search, you will find a few threads on using t-bird shocks.
I recently replaced mine with t-bird shocks and used the existing mounts. I burned the rubber out, and it works fine.
There is someone who sells replacement mounts made for these shocks, but I don't think they're necessary.
