Trying to change the pads, but the pistons won't retract.

The Firestone people said that the pistons or bores may be corroded, so you can't screw them fully open.

Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks.

this very well may not be your problem but a few years back on my 94 concours i had to cut my parking brake cable because there was not enough slack in it even with my parking break pedal fully release. it was causing one of my rear brakes pads to slightly rub against the the rotor and wearing the pads down real fast

very well may not be your problem if its fully locked but if its just slightliy rubbing then check out the parking brake

Turned out that a $12 wind-down tool and $24 pads fixed it all.

So much for an $800 caliper job at Firestone.

In March 2011 I went in to get 2 leaky tires replaced under warranty, and they gave me a $700 list of other things to replace... funny, the calipers were no longer on the list.

NEVER buy anything at Firestone.
