Could someone tell me if there is an actual big gain from getting the head done and putting +1mm valves in it? how exactly does this give u a gain and what kind of gain is it?

More airflow through the heads allows more air and fuel to be burned in the cylinders, which of course increases power... However 1mm isn't much of an increase, and increasing flow through the heads is pretty unnecessary in anything besides an all out, high RPM build.

From what I've been told, you can go +1 oversize on the exhaust valves and that is what gives the most improvement.

Depends on what your goals are for HP gain. I am having the heads on my LS done currently along with a total radius valve job. Gains will be about 37hp. I also have a remanufactured block done by the same machine shop(Jmsracingengines.com) so having new engine with more power than stock appeals to me. Factor your budget and whether it is worth it to you.
