Please help............... my car is overheating very quickly (like within 5 minutes of start up) and my heater isnt blowing any hot air, not even warm air. sometimes if I shut the car down the engine temperature goes back down to normal but the heater still doesnt blow warm or hot air. Any ideas?? Could it be the Dual Climate Control Valve (DCCV) aux. water pump??

Change your thermostat and flush the coolant. Look in the Tech section here for the proper bleeding procedure for the system to get all the air bubbles out when you refill it.

The coolant probably boiled the first time it overheated and created a big air pocket that has "air-locked" your heater core. That means there is so much air that the coolant is pretty much blocked out by the pressure of the air.

I forgot to mention that sometimes it doesnt overheat at all and everything works fine. But when it overheats the heater doesnt work, and if i shut the car off and turn it back on it sometimes works fine.

Would a leak in the degas bottle cause this. I know it cause mine to overheat and not give out cold air.

This was a common problem with my last car, a Ford Contour with the 2.5 liter V6. The problem with those cars was that the water pump would fail and the exact symptoms you describe would happen.
