2000 lincoln conti

I'm planning to get a Lincoln conti 2000... It has 87kmi on it, Black. the guy is asking for $6900.I took him down to $6000. The prob is I think it's a good deal but I'm afraid that there is something wrong with it, The guy said it looks and drive like new, So I don't know.
I just need an advice please.

take it to a local mechanic to check it out before you buy, just tell 'em you need a pre purchase inspection it's about $50 but well worth it
