i know a step backwards but i hit a dear and destroyed my drivers side light i have 1st gen lights from a former car 2000 and it would sure save me money (400 dollars) if i can do this thanks in advance

I think he is trying to put first gen headlights on his second gen cause he hit a deer.

Are you trying to put Gen1s on a gen2 or gen2s on a gen1?

I think you would need to change a lot of stuff to make that work.. Like header board, lights, wiring.. And you would still have a gap in between the lights and bumper..

Uhh.. Idk.. Most people want to upgrade to the gen 2 lights.. I suppose, since everything can be switched to a gen 1, it should work on the gen 2..

Just sell the gen I headlights and use the money to help pay for gen II.

If you have insurance use it....i know some people have low deductibles.

Ok! WTF? this thread is confusing. Is his car a 2000 or is that just where he's getting the headlights?

That makes sense now that i read his rtarded post again. Does it cost $400 for one gen2 headlight? and if you hit a deer wouldnt insurance get involved?

New gen II headlights are more than that.

Left side no hid is $620.42 and right side is $622.27

Left and Right side HID is $1825.63

These are the new ford dealer prices....if you can find em on ebay theyll be less.

Even with max's price they expensive as heck.

why is it that 300's and altimas and all these other cars have a boatload of stuff on ebay and we have none.

I sure picked the right car to mod.

Hey.. I look at it this way.. The chances of seeing a car modded like yours/mine is very slim to none.. Which is cool.. Rather than seeing 10 Mustangs in a hour span that look all like yours..

He was on the whole time yesterday when the contest started

You might as well just buy a new light or shop around on ebay. You can't just mount Gen 1 lights to a Gen 2. You will have to change the header panel and which will run you a little over a hundred bucks, modify your wiring because the harnesses are not the same between the two generations. Trust me I've done a full front conversion on my 01 LS.

To those who were able to understand my less than explicit question thanks for the input. To others you are correct poorly worded.
My question was that I own a 2004 (Gen 2 lights) and a deer attack my driver's side light this cost ($$$$) i previously owned a 2000 Gen 1 and have a left over driver headlight. Being the Father of six children i was trying to save money while trading off the aesthetic value of the car for functionality it would appear this idea has no merit Best Regards
