OK
So I disassemble the door , remove the old tangled cabled regulator and find that the plastc "clip/ clamp" on the bottom of the window is what broke. Then the cables got tangled.
I now have the new regulator , but after popping off the old broken clip from the bottom of the window I want to know one thing.

Does the pin ( plastic ) that is in the window , that the clip snaps onto ( I think its snaps on maybe not ) .........anyway , does the pin have to come out or does the new plastic clip / clamp just push up and snap on? Or will that break it?

Thanks

Hmmm.

Maybe.......I think the manual is a little "vague" on the pin part.

The gen I manual says pretty much the same thing.

NOTE: Prior to the installation of the window,
reinstall the outer and center portion of the spacer
bracket into the rear door window glass. The
spacer bracket should protrude equal distances on
both sides of the window glass.

OK

Using a Dorman window regulator , pushing the plastic retainer onto the pin , the plastic retainer split in half!!!!! Nice.
I cant believe the plastic was so hard ( brittle ) that it would just split like that. I called the source and they said they would send me another one ( regulator ).............now , I have to take the precaution to make sure that wont happen again! Damn.

Maybe taking the pin out and assembling pin thru the clamp / retainer is the remedy.....dunno.

Do they sell the spacer/window retainer pin separate...My MotorCraft regulator didnt come with one...also the old regulator didnt have one either
