For as much as I hate to do it…it is time to let the girl go. My wife needs a more dependable car to get around in and long trips are in her future. It is a 2000 V-8 with 134+k and she is in good shape. I have been wrenching on her on and off for 2 years. I get one issue ironed out and another pops up. I love the car but the time I spend in the garage with her is getting to the point where it is not worth the time I get blasting down the road.
The parts listed below have been replaced with new within the last 15 months:
Tires….Almost brand new Firestones…less than 100 miles on them..$800 alone!
Battery…..Again less than 100 miles on it. Needs a recharge from sitting
Battery tray/fuse box…..brand new
8 coil packs
E3 spark plugs
Cold air intake and free flow filter
Serpentine belt
Idler pulleys
Head light assys
Driving light assys
Alternator
Windshield
When she is on the road she is a blast to drive. In my opinion she still needs work to make her an every day driver. Someone who needs a “donor” for their beast has at least $3000+ in parts alone with this one. I am trying to get $2500 for her. Bring your trailer and take her away.
* forgot to mention I have the original air cleaner set up and engine cover. I also have the shop manuals which go with it. And any other spare parts I find in the garage are yours too.
