So today the hose on the top side of the T-stat housing to the degas bottle came off while driving, lost almost all the coolant but stopped before it overheated, the cause of the hose coming off is because I had a cheap spring clamp instead of a screw clamp and the brittle plastic tstat housing piece that the hose goes on to the pipe rib broke off so figured that was the cause of it coming off.. Ordered a metal jag tstat tower...
So what I did is put it back on w the cheap clamp and used A zip tie to keep it from coming out again.. Filled the rad from tstat cap aka engine rad fill while running till it was full then filled the degas bottle then tried to bleed it with no luck... The heater bleeder screw will only drain all the radiator coolant and most of what is in the degas, and when the bleeder screw is shut when I open the degas bottle and it backs up and pukes out even when engine off , engine not overheating but no heat at the heater but only for a while when trying m to bleed it but goes back away is it possible that air is trapped in my heater core cause wouldnt air in cooling system cause the car to over heat?
Any info would be greatly appreatiated thanks

Actually... the spring clamp may have been slightly too large... but the broken/missing nipple didn't help either. The spring clamps actually hold better than the screw clamps.

You are not supposed to fill the cooling system with the engine running. All that does is put air into the cooling system... and makes it harder to bleed.

Yes... replace the T-stat housing with the aluminum housing... fill the system with the proper coolant mix... and bleed according to the service manual for your year LS.

Drained it , refilled when engine was cold and added some in the degas , got it to bleed and it had good heat for a bit while idling but as soon as I went for a drive it got cold again any tips on bleeding ?
Thanks

Ever since I put a zip tie to holdd the hose on top of the tower that goes to the degas my radiator been blowing up on the back of the upper radiator hose, I patched it and it blew again I got another one from junkyard that was in decent shape in and it blew again same place ..car not smoking and theres no random coolant lost no leaks
But this only been happening ever since I secured the tower hose that kept coming off sometimes..
Its like its building too much pressure and instead of blowing out the hose off it blows up the radiator

The back side of the radiator side tank blowing out (at the upper hose)... is a known problem with both Gens of the LS.

It's caused by plastic fatigue... due to all the heat/cool cycles of the cooling system. That's why the used radiator blew out in the same spot.

At this point... you may want to budget for replacing every plastic part in the cooling system... including a new radiator.

Do NOT... try to cut corners by buying aftermarket parts (aluminum housing is the only exception here). The aftermarket parts cause the LS to overheat.. and only last half as long (if that long) as the OEM parts. Start saving for a $1k rebuild... and that's IF you do the work yourself.
