2000 LS V8 fuel rail port location

Does anyone know where the fuel presure relief port is located
I couldn't find it either - however - I just cut into my fuel line to add a fuel pressure guage onto my a-pillar. I never had to depressurize the fuel line at all.

Other LLSOC members have changes their fuel filter and never depressurized either.

The fuel rail schrader is located on the drives side fuel rail, just past the fuel pressure sender. To relieve pressure, start the car, remove the drivers side kick panel cover, and hit the inertia switch hard with your fist, then wait for the car to stall. If you would like pics of all of these locations, would like to see how i tapped in for my fuel pressure gauge, or would like info on how to run pressurized fuel injector cleaner, i can email you pictures.

One other thing that also helps reduce pressure is to remove the gas cap. Newer vehicles have an EVAP ( Evaporative Emissions) system that actually pressuizes the gas tank to pump out the fumes in the top portion of the tank. These pressurized vapors are sucked into the engine under mid/high rpm conditions. This is also why some of you (especially GM owners) may have had you check engine light pop on if you forgot to put on/tighten your gas cap.

The fuel filter by the way, is located in the drivers side wheel well, mounted to the frame behind the splash shield. Since your car is a 2000, if the filter has never been replaced, i would highly recomend changing it. Simply jack up the car, remove the dirves front tire. Remove the philips screw located on the drivers side lower skirt that is holding on the splash guard, and use diagonal wire cutters ("side cuts") to remove all of the plastic clips. The fuel filter will be on your right when looking into the well.
