2000 Navigator humming

When I drive it constantly has a high pitched hummm that gets louder the harder I accelerate. I think it might be from there being o much drain on the alternator from all my stereo equiptment but I was hoping someone here might have had the same problem. I used to get the same sound in my Dodge Ram when I would turn the dvd player on, but as long as it was off I would never here the sound. With the Navigator the sound is always there.
Any ideas??

Do you have all your stereo and electronics hooked up to a different battery, or your truck battery. If I were you, I would hook all that up to a back up battery in the back of the truck, try with that idea first, it sounds like youi have a lot of power running thru all the electronics you have in the truck. I've always hooked all my stereo equipment to a extra battery, that way you have know problems with your alternator or reg. truck battery.

What happens when it drains? Do you just recharge it every week?

Yes just use a battery charger, that's what I've always done and worked just fine.

You could just add a capacitor in the back, any reputable audio shop should sell and install these for your situation.
