Hi I have a 2001 lincoln ls v8 ......and I wanted to know can anyone tell me where under the hood can I find the tranny fluid stick so I can see my tranny fluid level.....I dont see it....thanks u can email me directly at calvdaley@aol.com

there isnt one. from what i heard as long as it is not leaking fluid it is fine

That one made me scratch my head too. The manual says there isn't one. That's a lot of confidence to have in a transmission!

its sealed for life. If you want the fluid level checked take it to the dealer, we can check it.

He's half right...

True. There is no dipstick. The transmission is sealed. There is a way to check and change the fluid.
First Step
You need to get the car on level ground. look towards the rear of the transmission. There is a fill plug just to the right of the driveline. use an allen wrench to remove the plug. Inorder to add fluid, you will need a pump. You can get one that screws on the top of the oil bottles at any napa.
Next Step.
Look at the tranny pan drain plug. It has a smaller plug in the middle of it. You will need an allen wrench to take the smaller plug out. Start the car and with the engine running, remove the smaller plug. If no fluid comes out, add some until you see a steady stream. Then wait for the fluid to stop again. install the small plug and the fill plug.
Keep in mind, your engine will be running when you check the levels. If you are filling a dry transmission, add 6QTs before starting the engine. Running dry could do alot of damage to your transmission.
