Has anyone converted the factory Voice Communication System in a 2001 Lincoln Towncar to work with the newer digital cell phones? I have the original Motorola Phone (analog) that worked with Sprint PCS and want to use the exisiting hands-free phone system. I'm told I have to upgrade to Bluetooth technology. Has anyone done this? If so...any advice/info about it is appreciated. Thanks...Prof. Kettle

I've seen a post somewhere, I believe it was a guy in Germany that did this conversion using a new bluetooth handsfree kit. He tapped into several systems, mounted the kit console inside the armrest. Now his Town Car recognises up to three different Cell Phones when the user comes near the car.

Works through the existing JBL system, HU reads "Phone in use", mutes radio sound, plays phone sound, mic was mounted seperately, guess he didn't have one to begin with.
