Hi Everyone,

I am unable to find the key to my LS anymore and I need to move it out of the garage for towing. From what I could find online my best bet was "manually" putting car in neutral by manipulating the shift linkage to get movable. I got the car jacked up, do I need to remove anything to access the linkage? Is it on the drivers side of the transmission or the passenger side? Anyone know the exact location? Any tips or other suggestions to achieve my goal of getting the car out of the garage?

Thanks for your time!

Driver's side.
  1. Disconnect the transmission shift cable from the shifter assembly.

Make sure you chock the wheels before completely lowering both ends of the car.

You don't want any surprises since the car will be in neutral.

Alternately... if you have a gen 1... you can easily set the parking brake.

If you have a gen 2 and the car still has a battery... the electric parking brake should set by lifting the paddle switch.
