2002 navigator- what mods need to be done to fit a double din stereo???

tried searching the forum but didnt come up with anything. has anyone installed a double din stereo into a 2002 navigator?

there seems to be a plastic or thin metal piece that comes down inside the dash that would be in the way for installing a double din.

From my experience in installing Pioneer AVIC's in both mine, you have to cut out the plastic in the dash that comes down at angle. You will also have to modify your dash bezel trim piece at the top opening for clearance of the front of the radio. I used a dremel tool for all this.
